Dr. Sarah Rogers Kelley has always wanted to be a veterinarian, when she was young a traveling vet came to stay at her house, after watching her for a week, she realized that veterinary medicine combined caring for animals and serving people. After graduating high school, Dr. Rogers went to Eastern Kentucky University where she obtained a degree in Agriculture - Animal Science. She was then admitted into the College of Veterinary medicine Class of 2017 at Auburn University. During her 4 years at Auburn Dr. Rogers fell in love with Veterinary medicine and knew she wanted to bring the option of gold standard care to Eastern Kentucky. After a few years in practice, Dr. Rogers saw a huge need in the Rockcastle County area for more veterinary professionals and decided to open Mt. Vernon Animal Clinic.

Dr. Samantha Poynter became a veterinarian in 2022 when she graduated from Auburn University College of Veterinary medicine. She has always had strong ties to the area being born and raised in Somerset, attending Eastern Kentucky University (2014-2018) and marrying her husband who is from Rockcastle county. After spending a year continuing her education seeing emergency cases at an ER in Richmond KY, Dr. Poynter is excited to be moving closer to home to help better serve the area. She loves hanging out on the farm with her husband and 2 dogs (Bear and Addie) and is always looking for the next best cup of coffee!
Erin is the MVAC Practice Manager. She began working in Veterinary Medicine through a referral from a friend in animal rescue in 2016, after having previously worked in human medicine as a CMA, CPT, and CET. She and Dr. Rogers Kelley began working together at a veterinary clinic in Corbin, Ky and when Dr. Rogers decided to open her own practice, Erin knew immediately that she wanted to join her team!
Beth is a Certified Veterinary Assistant. She began her career at MVAC immediately after graduating and has quickly advanced her career becoming the Lead Technician in under two years. Beth's specialties are urgent and critical care.
Ein is a Veterinary technician and student at Eastern Kentucky University. Ein became interested in Vet Med after working with horses, peacocks and many other species on his family's farm. Ein started working at MVAC to gain experience in the profession before applying to Vet school. When not at work Ein enjoys photography, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Sam is a Kennel Assistant and Receptionist. She is an animal lover and artist. She is also experienced in the field of Taxidermy, apprenticing at the early age of 10 under her grandfather.
